| 2024 ITS Maryland Annual Meeting: REGISTER NOW! Registration is now open for the 2024 ITS Maryland Annual Meeting, to be held on Friday, November 22, 2024! Keynote speakers will include: Danielle Deverell, on assignment for the Total Traffic and Weather Network at WJLA-TV in Washington DC Bruce Gartner, Executive Director, Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Sessions will include: Incident Management through ITS, AI, and predictive modeling Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) technologies and MUTCD considerations Digital Infrastructure and Cybersecurity ITS and the Key Bridge Traffic signal control and operations Over the course of the day, Annual Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to network and attend technical sessions. Exhibitors will present the latest in ITS technology during an exhibitor lightning round and will be available for additional information and discussion at their booths throughout the day. PDHs for the sessions will be available. The last day to register will be November 15th and the last day for Early Bird Registration will be October 25th. Save the Date and Call for Abstracts: the 2024 ITS Maryland Annual Meeting- November 22, 2024!
SAVE THE DATE for the 2024 ITS Maryland Annual Meeting to be held on November 22, 2024 from 8AM to 5PM at the Maritime Institute in Linthicum Heights, MD.
ITS Maryland is looking for submissions featuring leading-edge content and offering innovative presentation styles related to technology and intelligent transportation systems. Some desirable topic areas include (but are not limited to) the following:
– Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Transportation
– Cybersecurity in Transportation
– Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) Technology
– Crowdsourced Data
– Topics related to Resilience, Recovery, or Response
– Equity, especially in regard to implementation of technology
– Any other topics of interest, especially in regard to application of technology to transportation systems and networks

2025 ITS MD Election Nominations
ITS Maryland Members,
It is time to consider nominating members to serve as directors and officers on the ITS Maryland Board. We are accepting nominees for the following positions:

| Board Members (7) | Provide Guidance to the Chaper |
Officers and Board Members have a responsibility to be active members of ITS Maryland, which includes attending Board of Director meetings, ITS MD sponsored events, the Annual Meeting, participating on subcommittees, and other events throughout their term. We expect to be nominating up to seven (7) new board member positions this year so we need acceptable nominees for those positions. If you would like to nominate members for these positions, who would be willing to serve on the ITS Maryland Board or as an Officer, please submit your nomination as soon as possible but no later than Friday, August 9, 2024. As an organization, we have won chapter achievement awards at the national level due in large part to ideas and efforts of our distinguished board members. New board members will bring new ideas which will in turn take our organization to new heights. We promise a rewarding experience on both the personal and career levels. Please consider becoming a leader in ITS Maryland – your organization.

The Nominating Committee will consider all suggestions, review all nominations to verify that each nominee is a member in good standing and the organization has paid all fees owed to the Chapter. The committee will then will compile a slate of candidates for balloting by the voting members of ITS Maryland. An official ballot shall be sent to each member eligible to vote around September 2, 2024. The election results will be announced at the Annual Chapter meeting on November 22, 2024. Remember, you can self-nominate or nominate another good candidate – with their permission! Thank you for your continuing support of ITS Maryland.

Nominations Now Open for the 2024 Pat Timbrook Award of Service and Achievement
The Intelligent Transportation Society of Maryland (ITS Maryland) Pat Timbrook Memorial Award of service and Achievement seeks to honor a member of the ITS and transportation industry that has a record of outstanding service and/or achievement within ITSMD and the ITS/Transportation industry; has a record of volunteering, mentoring, and/or service to their local community; and be known for excellence, innovation, and perseverance in their field. This may be demonstrated through specific professional or technical society projects, achievements, recognitions, contributions, or anecdotes. ITS Maryland awards the Pat Timbrook Memorial Award of Service and Achievement at the ITS Maryland annual meeting. ITS Maryland is currently seeking nominees for the award.
The following eligibility criteria shall met by the Nominees:
a. The Pat Timbrook Award shall not be awarded to the same person more than once. Nominations for individuals that have previously been awarded will not be judged.
b. Nominees shall be from current or past ITS Maryland member firms.
c. Nominees are not required to have served as board members or officers in ITS Maryland.
d. Nominees should not be current ITS Maryland Officers.

ITSMD 2024-2025 Undergraduate / Graduate Scholarship Application is now Open!
The Intelligent Transportation Society of Maryland (ITS Maryland) is pleased to provide up to $10,000 in scholarships, with a minimum of $1,000 per scholarship at the discretion of ITS Maryland for the 2024-2025 school year. We invite undergraduate and graduate students currently registered as full-time students at a university or college in Maryland, Delaware, or the District of Columbia to apply for the scholarships.
Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement, special interests/community activities, and prior achievements.
All federal, state, and local taxes (if any) are the sole responsibility of the award recipient. The scholarship program is a service of the Intelligent Transportation Society of Maryland (ITS MD) and is supported by member agencies, companies, and academic institutions. ITS Maryland is a registered Section 501(c)3 non-profit entity.

ITSMD Launches New Website
The Intelligent Transportation Society of Maryland (ITSMD) is excited to announce the launch of our new website! The new platform offers a range of exciting features and improvements, making it easier for members and the general public to stay up-to-date with transportation policy and issues in Maryland.
The ITSMD is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the deployment and use of intelligent transportation to improve safety, mobility, and sustainability in Maryland. The new website reflects our commitment to advancing transportation technology and ensuring that our members have access to the latest information and resources.
Some of the key features of the new website include an automated membership process, improved navigation, and more content for both members and the general public. With the automated membership process, new members can easily join ITSMD and existing members can renew their membership online. The improved navigation makes it easier for users to find the information they need, while the additional content provides valuable insights into transportation policy and issues in Maryland.
